What is Quantum Week 2026?
Quantum Week 2026 is an official IBM Qiskit Fall Fest program organized by QuantumRIT at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), Bengaluru. It features hands-on workshops, technical sessions, distinguished keynotes, and Q-Hack India 2026.
When and where is it happening?
Quantum Week 2026 takes place from 27 to 31 October 2026 on campus at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
Who can attend?
The event is open to students, researchers, developers, and quantum enthusiasts from engineering, science, technology, and related disciplines.
Is registration free?
Registration details and pass confirmation will be announced soon when the registration portal opens.
Is prior quantum knowledge required?
No. The learning track starts with foundational sessions and guided tutorials. Beginners and quantum-curious learners are warmly welcomed.
Workshops
Who can participate in the workshops?
Workshops are open to all registered students from engineering, science, technology, and related disciplines (including B.E./B.Tech, B.Sc., M.E./M.Tech, M.Sc., and related programs).
Do I need prior quantum experience for the workshops?
No prior experience is necessary. Workshops are designed to introduce the basics of quantum computing and the Qiskit SDK before moving into intermediate concepts.
Do I need to register separately for each workshop?
A single unified Quantum Week registration form will be shared soon to cover the workshop sessions.
Hackathon
Who can participate in Q-Hack India 2026?
Students from engineering, science, technology, and related disciplines. Prior demonstrated projects or coursework in quantum computing may be considered during the Round 1 evaluation.
What is the team size?
Teams must consist of 3 to 4 students. Solo entries are not permitted.
Can students from different colleges form a team?
Yes! Inter-institute and inter-college teams are fully allowed and encouraged.
Can students from different branches participate?
Yes. Members of a team can belong to any academic branch or discipline.
What are the challenge tracks?
There are four challenge tracks: 3 Enterprise-led Tracks and 1 Independent Track. Problem statements will be released on 18 September 2026.
What technologies can we use?
Details regarding permitted technologies and tools will be announced alongside the problem statements on 18 September.
What needs to be submitted in Round 1?
Round 1 requires: (1) An Idea Presentation (maximum 8 slides), (2) A Demo Video (maximum 3 minutes), (3) An MVP or working prototype, and (4) A mandatory GitHub repository with README and setup instructions.
What is the Round 1 submission deadline?
The Round 1 submission deadline is 5 October 2026.
How will projects be evaluated?
Projects will be judged on an 8-criterion framework: Problem Significance (15%), Innovation (15%), Quantum Relevance (20%), Qiskit Implementation (20%), Feasibility (10%), Prototype (10%), Potential Impact (5%), and Presentation/Clarity (5%).
When will the Top 30 be announced?
The shortlisted Top 30 teams will be announced on 10 October 2026.
What happens after Round 1?
Top 30 teams advance to a Build Sprint & Mentorship phase (10–30 October) with IBM Quantum mentors, leading to the final on-site round on 31 October.
Is the final round in person?
Yes. Shortlisted teams will pitch and demonstrate their working prototypes in person at the MSRIT campus in Bengaluru on 31 October 2026.
Logistics
Is the final round on campus?
Yes, the final round presentations, judging, and valedictory will take place in person on the MSRIT Bengaluru campus.
What should participants bring?
A laptop with charger and a valid college ID card. Software setup recommendations are provided on the Resources page.
Will food/refreshments be provided?
Event day logistics and refreshment details will be shared with confirmed participants prior to Day 1.
Will certificates be provided?
Yes. Official commemorative certificates and IBM Qiskit Fall Fest sticker packs will be awarded to eligible participants.
